Kristina Laurendi Havens grew up in Grand Island, New York, close to Buffalo and Niagara Falls. She received her Bachelor of Fine Art Degree in Painting with honors from Buffalo State College. She worked with the Education Department of the world class Albright Knox Art Gallery and taught dancing for over ten years. In 1998 she relocated to Fort Worth Texas with her husband, David, an engineer. Kristina was awarded a full scholarship to Texas Christian University where she earned her Masters of Fine Arts in Painting. While at TCU, she worked extensively with the Moudy Gallery and TCU's Summer Art Camp. She also assisted in both drawing and painting classes and had the opportunity to work with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. The Havens relocated to Poquoson, VA in 2001, where they formed the company Studio 81, LLC. Kristina now dedicates herself full time to her greatest passions - creating art and teaching. While in Virginia, Kristina enjoyed teaching all around Hampton Roads, including the Peninsula Fine Arts Center. In 2005, Kristina, her husband and their new baby Jack moved to Woodstock, Georgia.
